Representatives on Parent Council
We have great delight in announcing the inaugural Parent Council for St Mary’s Catholic High School. As a school we have taken great strides forward with your support and we wish to continue our successful journey. We fully recognise the part you play as your child’s first teacher and most important teacher.
The council will initially comprise of one parent from each form group. Should there be more volunteers we may hold an election within the form group. There will be 20 parents on the council. If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else (you will need their consent) please complete the attached form and return.
The Governing Body will be represented on the council. The aims of the Parent Council are to find out more about what it is like to be a parent at St Mary’s Catholic High School (SMCH) and to give parents a chance to meet up together and discuss issues relevant to our always improving community.
We are hoping to hold around six meetings in a year, equating to two meetings per term: they will last around an hour and a half. It is anticipated that there might also be a small amount of work in helping to arrange meetings, but such duties would be shared evenly amongst all the other representatives.
